I’ve been looking for a cartoon that shows this overtly. However, I realized that taking a photo from an actual war scene might have more weight. This is a war photo of French soldiers charging during world war one. Notice that it’s the same group turned on themselves. I know that this is uncomfortable, because it shows the tangle that we keep repeating, and my hope is that it challenges us to see the truth and ask ourselves if this belief of “fighting terrorism” doesn’t work, then what does? How do you return to compassion in your own daily fights? Here’s a micro-example of this for me a couple years ago.
